

Ohio – Republican Senate President Keith Faber, proposed a plan to payoff the state’s unemployment compensation debt to the federal government by November 10th. In doing so, the state would avoid a sixth annual jump in federal tax penalties on Ohio businesses set for January 1st. With the loan repaid, the federal unemployment tax rate on Ohio businesses would revert to normal levels and businesses statewide could save half a billion dollars next year.
