Appeals Court Approves Unemployment Benefits

Milwaukee – A recent ruling by the state Court of Appeals reversed the Unemployment Agency’s attempt to deny unemployment benefits to a worker accused of “substantial fault” even though that worker admitted to both being aware of the employer’s very clear and well-established policy and of violating said policy.

Unemployment Updates

In the week ending December 5, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 853,000, an increase of 137,000 from the previous week’s revised level. The previous week’s level was revised up by 4,000 from 712,000 to 716,000.
